While this Memorial Day in the US, we remember and honor our fallen service members. Unfortunately, I am also remembering my tent. We had a horrible holiday weekend at our event. Our tent took off like a parasail, even with it being strapped/tied down AND with 40lbs on each leg. Stormed both event days. On the last day, as I am soaked head to toe in the downpour, I notice our tent leg crumpled outward from the night it went on vacation into the sky. And much like Spirit Airlines, the tent is no longer with us. Tried fixing it, but eventually, a support beam split, and then I just took the anger out on it in the middle of the storm. Had to drive almost an hour home, absolutely soaked.
So how did your weekend go? I do hope everyone had a better weekend than I did lol give me all the good vibe stories!

Ahh, I've been in that type of situation before. One of those moments when nothing goes right regardless of how hard you tried. Sometimes its better to just throw in the towel, tomorrow is a new day.
It rained up over here, so it was just another normal work day for me unfortunatley.
It's definitely a new day @Minion! moving on and focusing on the next one ๐ฅ
@schaefferjosh So sorry to read this. So sorry to say that I can identify with all of it, emotions included. In 14 years of business, and with over 75 events in our neighborhood during that time, dare I say that everything has happened, including having the remnants of a hurricane track all the way from the Gulf of whatever-we-are-calling-it-today ๐ค to Kentucky, where it dropped 12 inches of rain. That's the problem with outdoor based events, eh? I hope you feel a little better today.
The weather this year is definitely affecting us here. But, on paper we are still surviving and even making a little money -- though not as much as last May when every weekend was gorgeous and every event/holiday went off without a hitch. Those kind of months are so rare as to be completely memorable. Thankfully, we've had at least one day each event/weekend that helped salvage the rest. That's not exactly the success story you were hoping for, but it's the best I can do -- we're taking hits because of the weather and the stupid self-inflicted economic blows, but none of that has been a knock-out punch, either. It's just a thing.
Lick your wounds. Figure out the damages. Then create a plan and move on. And, remember, you're not alone. We've all been there, done that, and burned too darned many t-shirts.
I appreciate it, @TheRealChipA. Thankfully, I was able to order 2 tents and have them here on Friday, just before our next outdoor market. We ended the weekend by buying a Blackstone griddle (for social media content, of course ๐) and ended the night with some friends and a cookout. Definitely feeling better today!
