Integration with Prodigi

🙂Hi all,

I'm new to Square and still setting up my website right now.

I will be using Prodigi Print on Demand for a lot of my products and was hoping to incorporate their automated ordering system to my website. This would allow orders to go direct to them for printing rather than me receiving orders via my website and having to manually pass them along.

My problem is that (I think) this requires me to add their API code to my site and I'm not entirely sure how this works. I found a bit in the "Integrations" section to "add custom header code" which it says will allow me to integrate with 3rd party apps. Is that the right place? Is it even possible on this type of website or do I need access to the website's code to be able to do it? Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thank you x

**when replying please take into consideration that although I'm not stupid but I AM very much out of my comfort zone with this. I have very little idea what I'm doing and don't know the terminology for a lot of things so talk to me like the baffled middle aged woman that I am 😉😀

Hi Nikki, it appears to me that the API could not directly be connected to square by a user outside of square, however you do still have options, if you go to https://squareup.com/gb/en/app-marketplace/app/printful you have Printful, another print on demand company that may be able to supply what you're looking for, I know many people do use Printful on all different platforms and get good results! maybe look into this as it already has an app on the square app marketplace to integrate with your square online store. Other things you could try is you or I  could send a request to Prodigi to have an integration made for the square app marketplace so that you can connect Prodigi directly within square with no code. Your final option here would be to see if there is a HTML file you can use to connect the online store with Prodigi as this should fit in the custom HTML box.

I hope I have been of help to you, if you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask me, Square is an awesome platform that will do great things for you and your business!

Hi Nikki,

I am relatively seasoned in my knowledge of square and I'm getting there when it comes to writing custom web-code, so I could probably help out here. I'll take a look at Prodigi and feedback to you what I think will be needed here. Hope I can help!

@Nikki_ could I also quickly ask if you are signed up to prodigy and have an API key, if so I could check to see what type of code it is and whether it should connect?

Yes, seems like something that wont directly integrate with the current version of square... not saying it wont be possible in the future, have you looked into https://printful.com as that will integrate with square, sounds like the best thing from what I've heard and is very popular with a large part of the E-commerce community.

I have looked at many companies including Printful and tbh Prodigi are still the best fit for me right now even if I have to order manually.  I'm new to selling my art at all so I don't imagine I'm going to be overwhelmed with how many orders need to go through. It would be great to have the convenience of it being completely automated so I can concentrate on marketing and producing new art but I'll live.

Thank you again for your help. 🙂

If it’s art prints you’re looking at producing I can point you in the direction of all different print labs to fit your budget if you’ll be doing manual orders, I’ve used many print labs to find what fits me best for my store and would be happy to help : )

Thank you.

These guys were recommended by a fellow artist and I already  know they have the product options I want, at reasonable prices. I have some samples on order so I'll see what they're are like when they arrive. I'm not in a major hurry because I'm not officially "open" for a couple of months yet. If my samples are crap then I might come back to you on that though 😉

Thanks again, it's very much appreciated 🙂
