This is going to be a strange question, I know. We're open for a local fundraiser during the national blackout day today and staff are asking if there's a way to accept credit cards offline and then process them after midnight. I don't think cutting our wifi on the ipad we use for Square is an option because we also use it for playing music on our blutooth speakers. Is there another way to force offline card acceptance? I know this is a small thing, but it would make the staff happy and we want to stand in solidarity with the strike in any small way that we can, while still supporting the local fundraiser we already committed to. Thanks for any helpful suggestions.
I am going to take a stab at this and suggest enabling your offline mode with clicking More > Settings > Checkout > Offline payments and toggle it on. It will also allow you to set limits which might be a good idea and you need to settle all transactions within a 24 hour time frame. I think you will have to take your device offline while you do this and possibly run your music from a different device.
It would make me terribly nervous to run things offline for fear of running into declined cards and then trying to hunt down the guest for a different form of payment. 😵💫
