Floor Plan Colors with Plus Plan

On square's pricing page, it shows floor plan colors are included in the plus plan and the premium plan, but when I try to turn it on, it says it is only available in the premium plan.

I really want to use this feature but Its not worth an extra $100/mo when that is the only thing I would use (when comparing the two plans). Even the support AI chatbot says it should be included and working.

Do the floor plan tableScreenshot 2026-01-18 at 11.30.29 AM.png colors work for any other restaurant users on the plus plan?

Hi @Cskylar!

I can confirm that custom floor plans are available on both Square Plus and Square Premium plans.

With this feature, you can enable colour indicators to help remind employees when to check on tables. These indicators will turn a table red or yellow after a set amount of time. While this doesn’t allow for full colour-coding of your floor plan, you can customise the layout and click and drag tables or sections to arrange them as needed.

If you're already subscribed to the Plus or Premium plan, you can enable this setting by following these steps:

1. Head to your Square Dashboard.
2. Select Settings > Devices > Points of Sale.
3. Click the three horizontal dots next to the device(s) you’d like to configure > Edit.
4. Scroll to Floor Plans and enable Display Time Since Check Opened and Colour Indicators.
5. Choose when you’d like your tables to turn yellow and red > click Save.

If you continue to run into issues after following these step, please let us know by replying with additional details or screenshots, and we’ll be happy to take a closer look. 🙂

Hello @Laurie_ ! I was chatting with support today and they told me that it was no longer offered for the plus plan, and they just forgot to update the pricing page one the website. I was very disappointed to hear this.

Are you saying that is not correct? I spent two hours on the chat and was passed around to I think three different agents, so I would be very happy if they were wrong and it is available for my plan!

@Laurie_ Attached are some screenshots of the pricing page showing it’s included in the plus plan, and what happens what I try to turn it on. IMG_8337.jpeg

@Laurie_ They gave me $1000 free processing credit because it was taken off of the plus plan which REALLY sucks. Credit is nice but I really wanted that feature.

Hi @Cskylar

Thanks again for raising this. We’ve been reviewing it since your post, and apologise for the delayed update here.

I shared your thread directly with our Product team, which immediately prompted a broader review of how floor plan features are represented across our available plans.

At the moment, floor plans are referenced as part of the Plus plan, which relates to certain functionality. However, specific elements, such as the colour-coded labels, are currently associated with Premium. We’re reviewing how this is communicated to ensure it’s clear and accurately reflected.

Discussions are still underway, and I’m awaiting a final update. As soon as I have confirmation on how this will move forward, I’ll follow up with you here.

Thank you @Laurie_ !

We would love it if this could be an added feature to the plus plan for like $5 a month because it’s the only thing we’re missing and it’s not worth $100 extra for us.
