Does Square support credit accounts?

I've had a couple of customers ask if we can open a credit account. Is this possible with Square? Basically, they log in and choose items. When it comes to pay, they don't pay at the time, but pay at the end of the month or similar.

I can't see anything on here to allow that - so I was wondering if it was possible.

Thanks for any advice

Hey @alansh, thanks for your post.

Would your customers be receiving the items and then paying later or would the items just stay in the basket until a later date?

Just so I'm sure of the set up you are looking for.

If it's the former, that sounds like a buy now pay later set up? Square recently aquired AfterPay which is an Australian 'pay later' company. However we've only just lauched the 'buy now pay later' feature in Australia.

I'll leave the details here if you are curious but I don't have a date on when the UK/EU will have this feature just yet. It definitely seems to be an in-demand payment method globally.

Yes it is the former. I'll be interested to hear about your plans and I'll read up and see if it may help us going forward.

thanks

I've had a quick look and it's not quite what I was after. I want something where they can pay the full amount at a defined period - e.g. at the first of each month. But - given that this would probably not involve credit cards (they would pay by bank transfer), there may not be anything in it for Square.

But the buy now, pay later looks interesting as an alternative.
