I received a regular square reader on Thursday and tried learning how to use it with my Visa debit card. I couldn't get it to work. Does anybody know what is wrong?

Currently Square only accepts debit cards via contactless payment. Our Square Magstripe Reader can only be used with credit cards.
If you're interested in accepting debit tap transactions, I recommend checking out our Contactless and Chip Card Reader.
