I've imported a CSV of my mailing list into square marketing, but when I come to select and audience it just says 0 subscribers. How is that?

When you import a CSV, you will need to add a column about the Subscription Status to indicate whether your customer gave you explicit permission to contact them by email. You can set the status of the email address to Subscribed, Unsubscribed or Unknown. Emails marked as Subscribed will show as available to receive Square Marketing communications from you.
When you send a receipt from your Square account, your customer can give their permission and become a subscriber but in this case, you are importing a list of customers and Square doesn't have the record of their permission so it shows 0 subscriber.
