How to Fix "Not Eligible for Square Debit Card"

I keep getting this message as "Not eligible for Square Card." Due to restrictions set by our bank partner, we are unable to issue you a Square Debit Card at this time. Unsure what's wrong. How can I get this fixed?

Hi there @JobSnips.. The only restrictions I can find in Square Help documents for being issued a Square Debit Card are:

 

  1. You must have an active Square Checking Account
  2. You must have gone through the normal ID verification process, required by law.
  3. You must be the business account owner, not a designate.

Here's a link to the basic help information.  If you have already done those things and you still can't get a card, you'll need to contact Square Support and speak to a human being about what is going on.

 

One thing to keep in mind if you don't already have a Square Checking account and are thinking about opening one.  Once you have it, then nightly automatic transfers will be suspended.  This is for your protection, especially if you are using the debit card, so that you don't overdraft your Square Checking account.
