How long after checking my account does square offer a loan?

I’m sitting at 83% with very little to pay back, I checked and saw my account was “looked at” by square, still says not eligible. I’m wondering does the loan generate an offer when it looks or a few hours after?

Hi @Grooming.  There is no solid answer to your question, I’m sorry to say. Square Loan offers are somewhat of a black box — no one, even employees, can or will commit to any such timeline. When the black box is ready to make an offer, it will and you’ll get the email. It is regularly looking at our accounts, so just that act alone is not really significant.

Also, to be realistic, the entire loan industry worldwide is being very conservative and cautious currently. In Square’s case, I’ve seen quite a few posts of people waiting until a 90% playback at minimum before seeing an offer,  and many aren’t getting new offers until their current loans are completely paid back with even weeks of waiting after that. All lenders are worried about their balance sheets, especially those like Square with shareholders to answer to.

Sorry to seem so pessimistic, but that seems to be the reality right now. Hopefully the lending market will get some relief soon. It’s rough out there for borrowers right now.

God luck,
