What's something you've made that you secretly wanted to keep instead of sell?

It's hard to practice restraint when you make something that's a little too perfect. 😆

What did you almost keep? And does it still haunt you? 😅

It's not a secret - I don't even try to sell my original artwork anymore.  I only sell products made from those images. And no, it doesn't haunt me because, in my experience, it's rare that folks value the time and materials in the original works.  I find it's easier to not make them available. Besides, I've made far more than the value of the originals by selling my images on my products.  I also tend to work slow so overall, it's worked out beautifully.

@bonny, I love that you have found success doing this!! One of my artist friends (a painter) has such a hard time parting with their original works but I think could see a LOT of interest in putting her art on product instead and keeping the originals. What a great idea! I'm going to share this with her 😁

@katie I call it the work smarter, not harder model.  By leveraging my work on to products, I opened up several income streams that have leveled out that feast or famine typical with artists.

I think it's fantastic because you will leave a huge legacy behind that will have so much more value!  What a gift!!
