Hey there @jordanrhoades.. You're right to be frustrated, at least with Square Subscriptions. Currently, the feature is pretty limited, and is definitely not meant for anything other than the shipping fulfillment method. I'll be honest here (as a fellow frustrated seller) and tell you not to wait for that to change.
Here's a link to "subscription" search results in the Square App Marketplace. Research some of these and you'll probably find one that works for your needs. Many of these come with trial periods, and they all integrate with Square accounts. I checked out Submatic and Subport and will probably use one of those if I decide to do subscriptions, but there are others.
