i am being gaslit by a customer service rep named Jackie who refuses to help me and is ignoring my issues. i have 12 transactions showing 0 new customers and 12 returning. these numbers are wrong. i am a hairstylist with very low volume and my clients come to me in person. i've already sent screenshots of at least 2 clients who are shown as having their first transactions in august becuase they are my FIRST TIME CUSTOMERS and square reports are not showing as such.
idk what has happened to the customer service but it is worse than it has ever been. it takes talking to 10 people, months of chat and email and message boards and still just gaslighting and time wasting from customer support with no solutions. i think its to try and get people frustrated and hope they just give up. absolutely assinine.

What is your Process for in person sales? Do you enter your Item or Service then add the customer to the sale?
I have a regular who comes in multiple times in a year. If he uses his MBNA credit card for a transaction, then Chase for another and Wellsfargo for another, Square sees him as a new customer because he used a different Credit Card. I do not assign his customer Profile to Square. So did your customer use the same Credit Card, did they pay in Cash, and did you assign the customer to the transaction? The other thing is when a Customer gets a New Credit card, this may also show as a New Customer since they had a card replaced for whatever reason. You would need to assign the customer to the sale and see if that helps. But again no one here would know exactly why the same person is showing as multiples in your system besides Square Support if you are assigning Your customer to the sale, then processing their payment. I have over 10 different Credit Cards, and depending which one is have 0% interest might be the one I use, or could be a Promotion to get 2% cash back. So if I did that at your location, I could be at least 10 new customers in your system, 1 for each Credit card I use at your location if you do not add me as the customer to your sale.
yeah i guess it was another thread that clarified I KNOW it follows the card. no they don't pay cash, yes I connect clients to EVERY transaction because I only do in person transactions with my clients. but also if the case that you were saying that they used a different card then it would show MORE first time guests, not less. i am saying I AM having first time guests and they are NOT showing up in my new v returning insights. but thanks for that I guess hope you got your points or whatever 🙄
I've talked to four more customer service reps since then and no one can help me. so many hours wasted. and still NO solutions.
