Why is Square Go confirming appointments I declined!?

What’s going on?? Square Go is sending confirmation messages to clients whose appointments have been declined!? Talk about awkward and putting me in an uncomfortable position when someone thinks they have an appointment, show up to my place of business and I have to tell them my scheduling system is glitching. Now I feel like I have to offer a discount for the inconvenience.. I have no idea how to fix this!

Hey there,

I can understand how awkward and frustrating that must be! If Square Go is sending confirmation messages for declined appointments, it’s definitely not behaving as it should. Here’s what you can try to resolve this:

  1. Check Appointment Settings: Go into your Square Appointments settings and double-check your notification preferences. Make sure that only confirmed appointments are set to trigger confirmation messages, and look for any glitches or bugs.

  2. Manually Decline in Advance: Until the issue is resolved, you might want to manually follow up with clients via text or email when declining appointments, just to avoid confusion.

  3. Clear Cache and Update App: Sometimes, these issues can be related to an outdated app version or stored data. Try clearing the app’s cache or uninstalling and reinstalling it to ensure everything is running smoothly.

  4. Reach Out to Support: Since this issue is causing some real headaches, it’s worth reaching out to Square Support directly to get their help in diagnosing the problem. They should be able to escalate it and provide a more permanent solution.

In the meantime, maybe explaining the glitch to clients upfront could help manage expectations without needing to offer discounts.

Hope this helps you get back on track quickly! 🙂
