Unable to Reschedule Appointments with Another Staff Member in Square

Hi everyone, I'm encountering a limitation with Square Appointments and hoping someone might have a workaround or solution. We have 3 employees and offer 5 different services. The issue is:When a client wants to reschedule an existing appointment, Square only allows them to choose a new time with the same employee. There doesnt seem to be an option to reschedule the appointment with a different staff member which is a problem for us if that original staff member is unavailable. Is there any way to enable this flexibility for clients?Or do we need to cancel the existing appointment and ask them to rebook manually with another staff member? Thanks in advance for any tips or insight!

Hey there @ArtirisDev 

 

You are able to assign a new Staff member to an existing appointment in the Square Dashboard Booking Calendar by editing the appointment and then clicking on the Service or Item Name. Once there you will see an option for Staff that you can click and it will open a list of Staff Members. Once you make the changes and save it you will have successfully updated the appointment.

Thanks for your help @JJ_ ! I think I wasn’t clear enough in my previous explanation, and what you provided isn’t exactly what we need.


Here’s the situation:

We have three employee calendars (Thibaud, D, and Chien), and we’ve enabled the “Remove employees from the booking website” option. This way, customers can’t choose which employee they book with—Square assigns one automatically.

The problem is this:

Let’s say a customer books an appointment at 2:00 PM with Thibaud. Later, if the customer wants to reschedule, Square only shows Thibaud’s availability, not the time slots of the other employees.

That’s an issue for us, because we intentionally created three employees to have three separate availability slots at the same time.

Does this make more sense now? 🙂
