Trying to create a self booking booth rental service for hair stylist

Hello,

I am a salon owner and I am trying to figure out a way to add chair rental to an appointments calendar on my current square account. I want stylist to be able to reserve the chairs seamlessly online and pay when they book. Going to try and explain this so its not confusing...

I am offering day chair rentals to hair stylist and would like to have them book the chairs on square appointments as someone would do with a regular service. I have 4 stations and the only way I've come up with to make this automated is to make each station a "team member". Each station would have a 24 hour opening. The service would be "Day rental" so when stylist go to book their rental, it would show them which chair is available and what days.

Here's my dilemma:

1. Is there an easier way to do this within square 😩

2. I don't want to add these services to my current calendar because clients will see them and I only want them to be visible to stylist

3. To keep them separate from my salon calendar... it seems I would have to create another location

I didn't want to use another platform because I would like to keep all of my revenue and reporting on one platform. It's easier for me to manage. I also like to keep things as automated as possible, so if I can avoid having to send invoices and keep track of what chairs are open or taken, I'll do whatever to make it more convenient.

Im really stretching my creativity with trying to set this up. Open to all suggestions! Would love to hear from other salons that offer day rentals if you come across this! Help! 😅

I'm also open to any apps that integrate with square that can make this easier. TIA!

Thank you for reaching out here, @BostonHairnista👋

As Square Appointments doesn’t currently support having two separate calendars and services within one location, creating a new location specifically for stylists would be necessary to keep everything organized within your Square account and separate from your main salon calendar. This would allow you to have a separate online booking flow exclusively for stylists on your new location, which you could then share via a link or embed on a dedicated page on your website.

If you decide to go with an additional location, I’d follow what you’ve mentioned initially about designating each station as a team member with 24-hour availability, and creating a service called “Day rental”. If you're looking into other integrations that could suit your needs in this case, I’d recommend checking out the Bookings & Scheduling category on the Square App Marketplace.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out. 🙂
