I've recently upgraded in order to get Google Calendar Sync. I immediately set up the sync and immediately found an issue. Square doesn't support multiple calendars for one individual Google account. Now before you say "Yes it can!" Let me explain. I am aware that Square can sync multiple Google Users using the Staff functionality. That is a great functionality, but unfortunately not what I am referring to.
On the Google Calendar side: When using Google Calendar each Google user account can create multiple calendars under their one account. They could also have permissions to many calendars, if the owner of those calendars gives the user account permission. At any given time one individual Google user account can have one to many Google calendars under their individual account. For example my current Google account has the following Google Calendars:
- Personal Events Calendar (associated with my default email)
- Family Calendar (family calendar shared with the members of my family)
- Calendar for my sons sports team
- Calendar for my other sons sports team.
On the Square side: I would like Square to sync/import/export with the Family Calendar under my Google account, but unfortunately the ONLY option when syncing a Google calendar is to sync it with the Google users calendar; in this case it would default to my Personal Events Calendar. Screen shots are available below.
On the R&D side of things I know that this functionality is possible because Calendly will allow it. I've attached some screen shots from Calendly illustrating the functionality of being able to choose or not choose which user calendars to sync.
My question is if this functionality is being worked on or will become available soon in Square? It looks like Google has an API that will support this functionality. Will Square take advantage of it so I can personalize the solution I am paying for? Or is there something I am missing that will allow me to accomplish what I am trying to do?
