Hello! I am assessing Square appointments and packages for offering class passes to my clients. I searched through the Community Forum and reviewed Help Articles, but I am unable to find a straight answer to my question on whether packages are being redeemed based on quantity or the price of the individual service (in my case, it's a class).
Here is my scenario:
My classes are offered at the price of $25 for a single class.
I want to offer a 10% discount to the clients who purchase a 6-classes pass and a 20% discount to the clients who purchase a 12-class pass. The clients then would book individual classes using the package they purchased to pay for each class.
Once a client books a class using their previously purchased class pass/package as the payment method, I expect the quantity of classes in their package to be reduced by 1. Is this what is going to happen?
What I don't want to happen is that $25 (the price of a single class) gets deducted from their $240 package of 12 classes.
Please note that I want my clients to be self-sufficient and book the classes themselves, instead of me manually booking them into a class and applying their package as the payment method.
Thank you!
Hi @Laura_B
yes, the packages decrease by times used.
so for example, I sell a package of three facials at a discounted rate. When the client redeems it the package reduces to 2 and then 1 and then 0.
Hi @Laura_B, we appreciate you reaching out about this. This is a great question.
As I do not have personal experience using Appointments, I am going to go ahead and tag in a few of our Square Champions on this. @Stacelyn24 @RMConsultingLLC @Doran do you all have any insight on this, by chance?

Thank you @Doran for that super fast and helpful response! Really appreciate it.
