Pre-payment issues when Appointment is changed before confirming

We have our system set to accept pre-payments for all appointments after we review and manually confirm them. It is my understanding that this means that the customer submits their credit card info and the payment processes upon confirmation.

 

However, when I made a change to the appointment (that increased the price) prior to confirming and then hit 'Accept changes and confirm,' the credit card was charged the original price, not the new one. Before hitting accept, I did confirm that the new price was shown in the total line, which it was.

 

Please help me understand why this is and what I can do to make sure the customer is charged the correct amount?
