Partial Invoice payment not syncing to corresponding appointment

I'm about to start paying $69/month for "Appointments Premium" that can't even track payments properly?

 

If a customer books an appointment and I send an invoice from the appointment asking for partial payment and the customer makes a partial payment from the invoice, the appointment itself doesn't reflect the partial payment. This makes it far too easy for staff to overbill customers on the day of service if they simply process the payment from the appointment.

 

For $69/month, I would expect the system to be able to connect the appointment and invoice and track partial payments. Is this a feature coming soon? If not, does the community have any suggestions for alternative payment processors that can support this functionality?

Note to Square staff - This is a show stopper for me and will force me to look for another solution, especially with the new Appointments billing plans in place. In order to have the features I need, I can't stay on a free plan - but your solution doesn't seem to be offering very basic customer payment tracking (it's not linking appointments to invoices). This should have been resolved before rolling out the new plans in my opinion.

 

I hope there is a solution, because I'd prefer to stay with Square - but I see people asking for this from as far back as 2019 and I can't wait another 3 years on the promise of a feature request.

I'm not really sure I agree this is a "feature request" as much as it is a bug. I'm not asking for new functionality. I'm just asking for existing functionality to work properly.

 

Appointments allows you to create invoices. Invoices allow you to break up payments into multi payments, but Appointments doesn't sync payment info from invoices. Seems more like a "missed use case" bug to me - but nevertheless, I've added it to the feature request page.

Thank you for being so understanding @7thdaygaming I can definitely add something that I may have missed from my first post and that is that at this time Partial Payments on Square Invoices are not considered completed transactions. Our team is working hard on improving Partial Payments so stay tune for updates on this soon.
