I am wondering how salons feel about square appointments when it comes to multiple service providers. I am running mine with booth renters and don't want to have to pay them out but Square doesn't offer for the funds to go to different bank accounts based on who is assigned to the service. What workarounds have you found for this to not make the checkout process longer? Also, I want to make sure each provider can manage their calendars and want to know how well this works with the app. Also, How do you handle if you charge for no-show/late cancels as that is automatic when set up?
Booth renters can use their own devices to accept payment. The app is great for multiple people to manage their own calendars. We manually charge for no shows/late cancelkations, and you can a cess no show protection.
Hi @Jamiehatz, thanks for your post 👋
Correct, it would be a feature request to pay directly into your employee's bank accounts at this time. You could consider having each provider handle their transactions separately or set up a manual process for payment distribution.
Creating staff member profiles will allow staff to specify available services, manage booked appointments, and process payments.
I'm not sure if I fully understand your question about no-show protection, but yes as @DiannaDemmel mentioned, you can manage this for your Square Dashboard too. If your client doesn’t show up or cancels outside of your cancellation window, you can choose to enforce your cancellation policy.

Hi there! So with booth renters, they should be handling their own accounts since they are not employees. All transactions should go through the stylist directly, not the salon.
With their own individual accounts, they will have their own calendars to manage so that wouldn’t be the responsibility of the salon.
No - show/Cancellations fees are assigned when creating the service. You add the fee amount in the cancellation fee section (right below the price section).
Hope this helps!
All the best!
Yes they will be checking them out however I want everyone to be able to be bookable online in one spot instead of going to multiple different booking sites to make it easier for the client and with square you can add independent contractors but they would have to sign into their own POS to check them out otherwise I was trying to see if square had something like vagaro and it would automatically direct to the appropriate person.
Ah ok I see. I think creating widgets for your website would be helpful. Have each stylist create widgets (basically a link that leads to their services). You can create buttons on your website with their widget links and name the buttons (book {stylist name}) that way they are all in one place, but separate. Hope that wasn’t confusing lol!
Hi @Jamiehatz! I'm answering another's tag to chime in. At first glance the only thing that comes to mind is creating a Location for each of your booth renters and generate device codes for each renter/location. You will then be transitioning from "staff" to "location" based bookings. For this solution you will also request a Square Card for each Location. Your booth renters then use their Square app signed in under their own device code to collect payments and can spend right away using their Square Card. You need to enable all the booth rental locations in your services menu.
I could be missing your point. My assumption is you're okay with booth renters collecting payment from clients. You have the ability to transfer funds between Square Card accounts if you will be taking a commission or other fee for their rental. I could be missing a step that foils the whole thing but as I said this is what I see as a possible solution at first glance in the moments I have before seeing my next client.
Best of luck!
