Modifiers for services do not appear in booking flow

Hi, 
I've created 4 Services. I added a List Modifier that I want selected during the booking flow.

I was careful to follow all the steps of assigning the Modifier to the item (Services). And, then I went into the Services, Advanced configuration and ensured that max number of Modifiers was not none, but at least 1.

I performed various tests to try and select the Modifier I added to the respective Service, but the Modifier never appears.

Why are Modifiers able to be tied to Services if they are not selectable.

Moreover, I tried to add a Text Modifier next, however, there is no way to assign the Text Modifier to a Service. Nor is there a way to set a price.

I'll say the Modifiers interface has to be one of the most confusing I've ever encountered and I develop systems for a living... What gives?

At the moment, Modifiers aren’t visible on the Square Appointments booking page. I encourage you to add your vote to an existing feature request in our Ideate Room.

 

As a potential workaround, you could create different bookable options for clients by setting up variations instead.

Hey @Flatout-Sims.  Modifiers and the online services booking flow are a known deficiency with Square right now.  I know that, even though I don’t use services, I and a few others have submitted feature requests for Square to remedy this.  But so far, unless I missed the memo, this is just how it is.  

 

To answer your question, modifiers DO work in the Appointments (and other?) POS when a service is added to an in-person transaction.  So, that’s the answer to your “why.”

 

Maybe the product team will weigh in here and let you know if this issue is slated to be fixed on the current product roadmap.  To that end, I’ll tag a few moderators who might be able to ask the product team. I’m also going to tag a few of the admins for a beta called the Square Appointments Early Access to see if maybe this is included in that beta.

 

Otherwise, I’m sorry not to be of more help.  All I can do is provide information.  @_Violet @JJ_ @MayaP

THIS Is one of the reasons I am LEAVING square appointments..... is such a basic booking system that we pay alot for and it doe NOT even tailor our services for our clients ..we need clients to be able to customize there booking experience from their app so they canj book the services and add ons all at once . this is a professional feature we our asking for!!

The booking features also need some work it looks like a mess in the services booking section NOT PROFESSIONAL LIKE OTHER APPOINTMENT BOOKING SITES

@Jadaoneill What can we say here as your fellow sellers?  Best of luck wherever you go.  It sounds like it is definitely the best decision for you and your business.  That’s all that really matters, and even that didn’t need to be said, did it?

 

As for me, I’ll continue to try to be informative and helpful here in the Community.  That’s the only reason I am here, after all, and it’s the best I can do.

It's extremely frustrating the way the current configuration is, you end up testing endlessly trying to figure out why Modifiers are not appearing.

Disappointed, but I appreciate your knowledge on this and your response!
