Invoice creation and Staff Notification

I've been a subscriber to appointments for the better part of a year now and, while it provides some nice functionality for me, I'm finding that it is only about 50% of the way there for my business.    Before I discontinue my use all together, I thought I would revisit the limitations I have found to see if the group had found these and had workarounds or suggestions that I have been missing. 

 

My business is a car service and I use the web interface for the vast majority of my Square interactions.    The typical workflow is to create an appointment in the schedule, create an invoice, and receive payment for that invoice via credit card.  

 

I love the idea of the Appointments feature and being able to create a charge right at the time of scheduling.  However, the fact that the web interface does not allow a payment type of "invoice" makes this feature unusable for me. (the IOS app allows invoice in addition to the other payments types).  From a workflow perspective, I need to create an appointment in the appointment app, then go over to the invoice app to recreate the customer charge in it.   This adds steps to my workflow rather than decreasing them.

 

The other limitation I have is that, while the SMS reminders for customers is great, it doesn't't currently allow us to also send a text reminder to the staff person.   This is important in my business, but I think would be a useful feature for many businesses, particularly ones with mobile staff that work from home.   

 

I did add these to the feature request section but never had a response. Not sure why because they seem like simple enhancements but they just never caught the attention of Square. Has anyone else faced similar challenges that I have described and have ou come up with a workable solution?

@BDLNaples, thank you for your feedback, and I'm glad to hear that you've submitted this as a feature request. This will allow our product team to consider implementing this potential feature.

 

I'm going to go ahead and tag a couple of our Super Sellers to see if they have more insight or possible workarounds that can help @TCSlaguna @DinaLRosenberg @MudFire_Dex.
