I had a client say she was charged $2 upon booking her appointment

I haven’t charged this client anything. Upon booking her appointment she said she was charged $1-$2 before even coming in. I have had this happen one other time. I believe both times it was with AmEx.

Will this charge go away? What do I tell people this charge is? Why does square charge their card?

Is it a completed charge?  Or does is say pending at their bank?  I've never had this happen with my Square appointments.  The only thing I can think of is it is a pending "charge" just to verify the card is legit and will drop off after a few days.

Thats what I had told her it likely was, and I also said it should drop in a couple days. She wouldn’t tell me if it was pending or not, but didn’t seem too upset.

Sounds like a preauthorization charge, as @Doran mentioned. Keep us updated, @BrujaBeautyBar
