Hey there Heidilk1975,

This is like one of those math questions that you get in school - yep, which train gets to the station first .... I didn't care then and still don't now ... 😀

If a client pays for 4 labor hours with 2 staff members but only requires 2 hours of work at their house, it means that the client is paying for the services of two staff members for a total of 4 hours, regardless of the actual time spent at the client's house.

Unknown variable:  In this scenario, it's possible that the client has requested the presence of two staff members to complete a specific task or to ensure efficient completion of the job within the desired timeframe.   However, if the work is completed in less time than originally anticipated, the client is still responsible for paying for the agreed-upon 4 labor hours.

It's important to note that specific billing arrangements may vary depending on the terms and conditions agreed upon between the client and the service provider.  It's recommended to review any contractual agreements or discuss the situation with the service provider to have a clear understanding of their policies regarding billing and labor hours.

Also consider just charging a Flat Rate for Cleaning Services - the client wants their place cleaned, they don't care what goes on behind the scenes or how long it takes - that may work out for both you and the client.   Treat your employees well, offer them an incentive if they complete their assignment ahead of your estimate - you and your employees both win.   It's just part of doing business.  Just another thought.
