My clients seem to always call the phone number that gets sent out for appointment notifications and it ultimately rings to no where and then they leave voicemails on that line.
Can i just forward the number to my shop number to mitigate this issue.

Unfortunately at this time, there isn't a way to forward calls from the messaging numbers to another phone line. I do think this is a fantastic idea, though. I recommend heading over to the Ideate page on this site and submitting a feature request.
I'm not familiar enough with the Appointments side of things to know the answer to this, but I do know on the regular Point of Sale side, you get incoming voicemail alerts and can view a transcription of the voicemail directly from the Messages section of the app. I'd assume that's available on Appointments but I'm not sure.
