AI Agents when APIs Fail

@JTPets Hope you’re doing alright and getting some rest and relaxation.

This question may be for you.

I tried using Square APIs to get the Appointments report I need. The problem is that the Appointments API and Transactions API have no way of linking appointments’ customers with their actual transactions. (It is especially problematic with pre-payments that happen a week in advance of the service, or appointment under one name and payment under another). Anyway… I don’t think Square is going to give us the API that actually links the two.

Here’s the thing. If I view appointments from a computer, I can take two screenshots of an appointment and Claude can accurately create my report. Problem is I have to do this for ALL appointments in a two week period.

Question:

Can an AI Agent like Muse click around the Square site and take screenshots of every appointment made in a two week period?

We've actually run into similar reporting challenges with Square Appointments! Have you considered a custom integration using Square's existing APIs? You could potentially pull appointment and transaction data into one report, although matching payments made under different names may still require some manual review. An AI browser agent might also be worth testing for the screenshot approach. I'd love to hear if you find a solution because this would be helpful for our business too!

@Stacelyn24 I have spent over 40 hours with Claude trying to create a report that use Square’s existing APIs to pull appointment and transaction data into one report. It cannot generate an accurate report, and the verifications I have to do make it so that it doesn’t really save me time.
I have never played with an AI agent clicking around my screen. If it could properly filter each service provider from the dropdown menu, click through each appointment in the calendar, and then take multiple screenshots after clicking through different pages… I’d be impressed.

But let’s be real here. To have to do that would be silly. Square Appointments should have reports based on when a service was rendered. If they don’t, they should have the tools necessary to create your own report.
