Receipt Description turned off but Printing ??

I have Descriptions set not to Print but when I looked at a Receipt that I received a Positive Review for I saw the Description was Printed.   I have this turned off since My Description is my Storage Location.  Attached are Pictures of my setting and of the Description on the Receipt.   Since the receipt was digital to the customer I have not noticed it on Printed receipts but will look tomorrow.  Anyone know why this has happened, or if this is just what I see and not the customer?

@Candlestore Where is this setting at?  I haven't seen it before and am curious, I know I have one for the printed receipt.

Since this is for ReceiptS, I was thinking this was for ALL receipts not just the Printed receipts but I could be wrong from some other information I found that you can turn off descriptions for Printed Receipts.  I just do not need automatically, or Text, or manually emailed receipts etc for instore purchases having the Description printed on them.   Item Name, SKU, Amount..... etc yes but not the description of where I store more of these since Square does not give a Bin location for Stock Back up.

I mean even in my Photo it says

"Show Item Description"   It does not say 'Show Item Description on Printed Receipts (but will always be on Digital Receipts)'

 

And since I have not seen it on my Printed receipts I assumed it was not on my Digital ones either until I looked at one that I saw for a positive review.   Then I was wondering do all digital receipts automatically get this description, or am I only seeing it because I am the business owner checking on a digital receipt.  Whey does the description get turned off for 1 type of receipt and no Setting for all Receipts?

@Candlestore I would about bet the option to not have it on a printed receipt is one of those legacy style items to make the receipt shorter and save paper, where in digital, they can be as verbose as they would like.

 

I wonder if you could use the kitchen name field?  They have this feature that you can have only show up on kds or order tickets and doesn't show on a receipt or anywhere else.  It isn't perfect, but I like it, but it would require you have "name -  then location info"

I will have to look to see if I can do that since I use Square for Retail.   Business name and Location address is not an issue for me as I have a physical store and not doing this from home.  🙂

Thanks for the idea but still think Squares wording needs better clarification on what these toggle switches are doing.   Just glad I don't nick name my Storage buildings with offensive names or abbreviations that could be read as offensive.
