No Active Location error when trying to take payments with Virtual Terminal?

Unable to use the virtual terminal or accept online store payments.

 

Virtual Terminal:

Error: No Active Locations

Virtual Terminal requires an active reporting location to process payments.

 

Online Store:

"This store is not yet accepting payments."

 

Physical location has been defined with active/verified bank account.  How do I set an "active reporting" location so payments can be accepted?

Hey @RRH-

 

It sounds like your account isn't fully activated yet, and we still need to verify some information. 

 

I would suggest going to your Square Online Dashboard, selecting Setup Guide, then select Get Paid, then Verify Identity. This should bring you through a workflow where we ask you a few questions to verify your identity. Afterward, you account should be activated.

Thanks for posting the Seller Community.

 

It sounds like you may have been attempting to take payments from an inactive location that was previously created. When you're in your Online Dashboard, how many locations do you see here? How many of them are active? 

 

When taking a payment using Virtual Terminal, I would ensure that you're selecting the correct Reporting Location. Let me know if this helps. If not, please reply back in this thread with the answer to my first question, and what browser you're using.

Hi,

 

Where would the indicator of whether a location is active or not be found? I am having this issue as well. I see a location for my newly created account, but am unsure about what I should do to activate it. I am using Safari.
