Custom Donation Amount Comes and Goes

My page is for a nonprofit charity, so it is very important that we have the ability to take donations of any amount.

 

Currently, we have five (5) pre-set amounts and have toggled on the custom amount, but sometimes the custom entry field is available on our site, and sometimes it is not. This is obviously a bug, and I've seen post going back to at least 2000 about this. Why hasn't it been addressed?

 

The only "fix" is to toggle it off, then on again, but their is no telling when the field is gone, and frankly, we just don't have the time nor resources to have someone sitting at a computer 24-7 checking this. 

 

Is there a permanent fix that I'm missing?

Some more info would be helpful - how is someone going to your Donation page - is it part of your website or just a Payment Link or  both ?  I have seen some differences in how things work when just using a Payment Link verses what is on the actual website.  Although the volunteers here are not the same as Tech or Customer Support, there is quite a bit of hands-on experience.  We can't look at what you have setup in your account so, it's possible that you may have to contact Tech Support - can't say at this point without seeing an example.

We are also having this issue with our donation items in our online store: claxtonfamilies.com. 

 

I have re-set the items multiple times, and the custom amount will show momentarily, but then disappears. It's incredibly frustrating. I have in a customer service ticket, but any solutions would be helpful.

Our church site is having this same problem, it has been an issue for years, but is even worse lately.  Same "fix": toggle off than on the custom amount button.  Sometimes it is fixed for a few months, or maybe a few days.  Lately it's a few moments or not at all.

It happens no matter how you go to the site; through our website, directly by typing in the address, or on mobile.

I gave up on it. It was literally changing multiple times a day. Our site is still hosted via Square, and we have some branded merchandise hosted there, but we moved our monetary donation collecting to GiveButter.com (which gives donors an option to pay transaction fees, and so far, most do!).

Thanks for the replies. This is really a shame. I ended up adding a note in the description to contact us if they want to donate a different amount. Completely goes against having the ease of an online donation option.
