Square Register and Square Terminal intermittently won't take payment...

For the past 48 hours I've been dealing with an issue with my Square Register and Square Terminal where they won't take payment. Thankfully, there's a work around, but this is seriously slowing us down. I'm attaching a video showing the issue, but I'll explain as well.

It seems to be happening at random. Yesterday and the day before it was happening a lot (every 10 minutes or so at one point), but it's slowed down and now it's only every few hours or so. But basically the lights on the customer facing display will start blinking at random. Once that happens the next attempted credit card payment will hang on the "authorizing" screen with the circle just looping endlessly. The only way to stop the cycle is to turn off the screen of the register (or terminal) which then cancels the transaction. After that you can take payment. 

I've factory reset, restarted, switched out the customer facing display (did it with both), worked off a hot spot (to rule out my ISP) and reset my modem and it's still happening. Something seems broken on the Square side. I've called in the issue and I have a support ticket, but it's been 48 hours and it's still happening. Again this is the terminal AND the register.

I have the newest Square Register (the one that's black & white and uses an iPad) and I have the issue where the lights for the tap or insert options just don't light up and it won't recognize that a card has been inserted or a card is being he 

I reported this issue at the start of the year and it took them months to find the issue and come up with a solve. 

Now I'm running into it again. Slightly different from yours but still resulting in payments not processing and having to restart the app.
