Remove the send button

Is there a way to remove the send button for Square pos for restaurants? We are a counter service ice cream shop, so we do not need to use checks or print out orders from the pos.

Hey @cdelord2 & @ryanwanner

You can get rid of that send button and I just tested it.

You have to go to device settings and create a Quick Service Mode. Then apply it to the device you want.

Square Dashboard -> Settings -> Device Management -> Modes -> Add Mode and make is the Quick Service option

Then on your device go to the pancakes (3 lines bottom right) "More" and change the devices mode to the Quick Service option.

You may need to edit the mode for other particulars but when I just tested it the Send button was gone.

Maybe you set up printers with order printing or kitchen routing with it?

Try setting up a new mode with it and see if that works. Worked for me.

Hello@cdelord2 !

I haven't found a way to remove the send button yet either. I've just gotten into the habit of hitting the Check link at the top then the Pay button. I think this would make a good feature request though: for those of us set up as counter service, we should be able to disable the option to save open checks. I recommend heading over to the Feature Request board on this site and submitting this idea there.

@LukeNieuw  *blink blink* Uhhh.... wow. How did I not know about that? What's odd is I'm set in Quick Service mode currently and my send button is still there. I wonder if something changed recently when creating modes.

Anyways, THANKS!!

Hey all.  Another issue might be that Open Checks are enabled.  When they are (whether in Device Modes or on a particular POS), then the Send button is necessary.  The only way to remove it is to use QSR mode WITHOUT open checks.

Was my post helpful? Take a moment to mark it as a possible "best answer." I hate the term, and wish we could just mark posts as "helpful." But this is our only mechanism at the moment. Just remember "Best answer" should be interpreted as "helpful," and nothing more. LOL. "Best" (ugh) answers help folks possibly find solutions to similar problems they are hoping to solve.
