Yes, if you choose "Any available", the customer will be assigned any staff member but there is no "formula" behind how customers are assigned. They will just be assigned any available staff member.

Welcome to the Community.
Enabling the Any Available option in your Square Appointments settings allows clients to select from all available time slots and get automatically assigned to a staff member.
