Has the Square Dashboard item description search function changed?

The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Search items by description.

Hi.

I used to be able to search by description in the Item Library. The description also had a header in the title bar which meant I could readily see the description for each.

Now if I try, the search seems to be an 'or' function: eg. lock.0001 will look for lock (including partial words) or 0001, which is broad and useless. Instead of one result, I get hundreds given most of my products have lock somewhere in the the fields.
I tried swapping my internal reference into the SKU field (to test) however then the issue seems to the period - if I take it out, it can find it. I can put it into the vendor field but it's not accurate.

This functionality appears to have disappeared since I last used it (probably July).

Is there a workaround please? I really don't want to have to modify my whole inventory and changing the vendor code to match our internal one isn't really a viable option.

We experienced an issue over the weekend that briefly impacted Sellers’ ability to search for specific items within their inventory on the Dashboard. I can confirm that the disruption causing the issue has been resolved, and all items should now be searchable as intended. If you’re still having trouble with the item search feature, please let me know.

Searching ability has been restored however I still can't add the description field / header to the title bar as an option (so I can view that information for each item).

Is there a way to have this included in the menu option?

Hi @GL-6721,

The ability to see a preview of each item's description in the item library isn’t a feature that’s currently available. To view all of your item descriptions on one page, you would need to export your item library as a CSV file. I’d encourage you to visit our Ideate Board to check if there's an existing feature request for this. If it exists, please add your comments to show support, explaining how it would benefit your business. If you don't see a request, feel free to create one and invite other Sellers to share their thoughts and experiences.

We consider several factors for feature requests, such as Seller interest and our development priorities. By posting your suggestion on an existing board or starting a new one, you enable other Sellers to back it with their votes and comments, emphasising the need for this feature to our Product team.
