How do I delete an uploaded file?

I want to completely remove an uploaded PDF file from my website. I can remove the link to the file from the page on my site, but the PDF file itself still exists and can be accessed by anyone with the direct URL, for example:

http://www.scfcommunity.org/uploads/1/1/5/8/115852915/scf_barometer.pdf

How can I remove a file completely so that the URL no longer works? Can I access the uploads directory and, if so, how?

Hi @mikehewitt We can permanently delete the file for you, but I believe I saw a reply from Adam once that stated if you delete the element the link was attached to (i.e. button, image, text) that the file will also delete. Did you remove the pdf from whatever element it was connected to? Or did you replace it? I'm curious about this for my own knowledge, but will delete the file for you regardless. I just need you to confirm that you are aware the file will be permanently deleted from our database and we will not be able to recover it. Thanks!

We have the same issue with a site. People keep accessing old files that are not supposed to exist anymore. What do we need to provide to have all these old files permanently deleted?

If you have a number of files to delete, can you submit an email request to our customer support team, @rfust? You can reach them via our support site after clicking on the "Contact Us" link.

Why does WEEBLY not allow the admin to delete his/her own images and files?

Did you need a file deleted, @360? Deleting the element you use to upload the image or file will delete the image/file, but if you can't do that we can help you with it.

Adam, it does not seem to delete the file. I tried this on our site and the file is still discoverable. I will submit a support ticket, but if you guys could work on that, that would be appreciated. We're having this issue in a few places.

Please post the full url link to the file you wish to delete. We are not able to recover information that is deleted from our servers, so please make sure. you have a backup as well.
