How do I delete an uploaded file?

I want to completely remove an uploaded PDF file from my website. I can remove the link to the file from the page on my site, but the PDF file itself still exists and can be accessed by anyone with the direct URL, for example:

http://www.scfcommunity.org/uploads/1/1/5/8/115852915/scf_barometer.pdf

How can I remove a file completely so that the URL no longer works? Can I access the uploads directory and, if so, how?

Thanks!

I have the same problem!

I deleted a page which included a file link (PDF). The page is gone but the PDF is still searchable on the internet and I need it removed urgently as it contains sensitive and outdated pricing information!

Thanks for submitting that case, @sosmarci. A member of our support team should be getting back to you soon. In the meantime, it would help our support team if you reply to your case with a list of links to the files you need removed.

Hi @Blankinship I confirmed with Adam that he received your message with the file name, and I've removed the file for you. It may still be cached on your machine for a short amount of time, but should no longer be accessible.

Why in the name of all that is holy can we not manage our own files?

@MaggieBird I'm really sorry to hear the frustration regarding your file. Can you please give me the file name and I can delete it for you?

Please delete this file for me asap too https://www.ex-seed.co.uk/uploads/7/0/4/9/7049992/es_-_internet_erasure_service_agreement_to_sign.pd...

It seems that there is a gliche on weebly that if site owner deletes a page without deleting individual uploads, the uploads stay accessible to google bots.

I have a file which requires deletion as well.  It is ridiculous in the year 2022 that we can't simply manage our own uploaded files.

"We don’t have a customer-facing file management system for the site editor that allows you to delete files on your own."

Seriously why?
