How do I delete an uploaded file?

I want to completely remove an uploaded PDF file from my website. I can remove the link to the file from the page on my site, but the PDF file itself still exists and can be accessed by anyone with the direct URL, for example:

http://www.scfcommunity.org/uploads/1/1/5/8/115852915/scf_barometer.pdf

How can I remove a file completely so that the URL no longer works? Can I access the uploads directory and, if so, how?

I deleted a page which included a file link (PDF). The page is gone but the PDF is still searchable on the internet and I need it removed urgently as it contains sensitive and outdated pricing information!

Hi @ClareMoore We can help you out with that. Can you post the full link to the pdf file and confirm you wish to have it deleted? It will be scrubbed from our servers and we will not have a way to recover once it is deleted.

And the same for me. It is a real pain that Google finds these files in preferance to the actual site files.

Search for: fcoca association contacts and up comes a file from 2017!

Support how can we make sure that these old files are deleted as expected?

Deleting the element used to upload the file will delete the file, although sometimes that isn't an option (if you deleted the page the element was on, for example). In those situations you'll need to contact our support team and provide links to the files so they can delete them for you.

The new one is loaded to the website but I need all of the old versions gone.

You can reach the team by scrolling to the bottom of our Help Center and clicking the contact us button. Once you see the automated chat window try typing something like "speak with a rep" to be directed to the teams available to your account.

Common weebly, this is ridiculous!

In the meantime, admin can remove a url from search results

1. with the google search console
2. with the robots.txt file - although wait, IT'S NOT POSSIBLE EITHER WITH WEEBLY...
