File Upload problems

I noticed the window that the attachment window that appears after clicking the toolbar button recently changed.  When I try to upload my files I now seem to have to do it several times before it actually uploads.  I can't seem to find a reason why it does it sometimes on the first attempt while others take several tries to get the same task done.  Any suggestions?

Sorry to hear you're having trouble, @Science5321.  Do you see any error messages when your file doesn't upload?

Nope.  No error message.  After working with it a bit more what I'm finding is that if I let it sit, for 3-4 minutees after it says the upload is compelete, then the file has been attached.  I've never had this lag time before.  It has always been immediate.

That's definitely strange.  What browser are you using?

I've used chrome, safari, and explorer.  Happens with all three.

Do you have some type of antivirus that does a scan of uploaded files before uploading?

I'm having the same problem.  Just posted in another thread about it but this one is more recent.

This is still happening to me, but mostly when I try to upload a PDF file. I highlight the text, then click the link icon, then choose File. When I try to click on +Upload New, nothing happens. I refresh and try repeatedly. Every so often the +Upload New will be "active" and let me upload.

Hello @Firebird

I answer you in the other posts but you will also need to see if you need to set permissions in a firewall or antivirus software. If you have plug ins or extensions for your internet browser then you will want to also check those to see if they are blocking anything.

Thanks for your reply(s) @NickyLimes.  I am using a Mac, and I tried waiting but still nothing.  No pop-ups blocked or anything.   I have been using Weebly for years and this issue just started about a month ago, nothing else has changed.

I have not downloaded Chrome yet, my husband is not sure he wants to do that but perhaps I will try.  Still does not explain why it worked perfectly fine with Safari for years until a month ago.

Any other ideas?  Smiley Happy

Hello @Firebird

Did you clear the cache and cookies of your browser?

Have not done that and am a little reluctant, esp since I have had no other problems with other sites or with this function in Weebly.

Hello @Firebird

I was able to go into safari on my computer and link a file to text and publish. It took almost a minute of the rainbow spins before it showed up. But my machine does that with everything. If it was not an antivirus software or a firewall or a pop-up blockers we will need to have you clear the cache to start fresh.

Oh I dont get the spinning ball.  Just . . .nothing.  I click on the +Upload New but it's like I'm clicking on a static part of the screen.

LOL sorry to keep bothering you @NickyLimes.  I have noticed a similar problem.  When I highlight text, because I want to bold it or link to it, often the little menu (B U i, link, align etc) does not pop up.   It seems random.

I was just on Weebly and tried to upload a PDF and as soon as I touched +Upload File the big box opened up for me to drag my PDF into.  Very weird and frustrating as I don't have time to keep going back and re trying to edit my site.

Adam,

AHA! I have figured it out!

the 'upload file' button does not work for some reason at the moment.

however, I was able to just open my directory and then just drag and drop the file in (as it actually says to do anyways...!)

All good at this end again. YAH!

Cheers for seeking to assist though Smiley Happy

I am having problems uploading a zip file this morning. I have been trying now for 2 hours. I have done everything suggested and still nothing. I click on the upload files box, the window opens I clik the zip file I want to upload then the progress bar appears, it goes 3/4 way across then just stops. No error message or anything and the only way I can get out of it is to close down.

Hi Elaine,

I'm having this issue too, have you resolved yours?

I've cleared cache and cookies and tried different browsers and the problem is the same. The upload starts and the bar goes to halfway and then back to the start and begins again, then almost to the end and.....nothing at all happens. Just over a week ago I didn't have any problems at all when uploading...

best wishes,

Rowena

Hi

I'm having the same problem. I upload sermons to our church website and the last date I was able to upload a file was 31 July. The upload bar moves a little and then seems to freeze
