Hello, @warmfuzzy!
We do not put a restriction on the amount of space or bandwidth you may use on your Weebly account. The only constraints are the file sizes. With the Pro subscription and higher, each file can be up to 250MB in size and each uploaded video can be up to 1GB in size.
That means you can upload as many regular files up to 250MB each or as many video files up to 1GB each as you like. The individual file just cannot go beyond those file sizes.
If you have videos or audio files that you need to compress to a smaller size. I personally, use Format Factory for this purpose. It is available on for PC only. You can find it by Googling Format Factory. The software allows you to convert to different file types and to change the compression level from low quality, medium quality, and high quality. There are many features for each level of compression. Those are up to you if you need the software. One other option for video is Handbrake, which is free.
Note: We don't support any third party software, so if you do choose to use Format Factory. You'd need to contact the maker for assistance.

What is the file size limit for a free site? I am having problems uploading files and I think it may be due to their size.
Thanks

This doesn't make sense... We were hoping Weebly in 2017 get enligthend and either offer FTP connection or allow much higher upload limits... we were hoping the management will make such a change... Not so... Telling all our clients to not move to Weebly.. (These are on line book publishers --- some of the PDF's are much higher than 250MB (Yes... we recommended to compress them.. but quality of comressed PDF is not good )
Weebly has the best web builder but a bad policy on upload limits
VERY DISAPPOINTED !!!

I have tried several times today to upload a 200MB .mov in HD video upload. The blue progress bar gets halfway across and then sticks (for over an hour).
We have Pro membership.
What are we doing wrong?

There might be something about the video encoding that's causing problems. Try converting it to a different file format and re-uploading, @adrc-s.

Originally I tried to upload .mp4 file, but the upload would not initiate. So I used quicktime to export from .mp4 to .mov and encountered the halfway-halt. If Weebly accommodates neither .mp4 nor .mov, please can you be explicit what movie formats will upload using the HD video uploader?

Incompatible file types shouldn't cause a halt in that way. Have you been able to try contacting support directly via hc.weebly.com? They should be able to check out the file itself for more information, which would be helpful in solving just what's going on.

I am having the same issue. MP4 file will take an hour or two to load, blue progress bar creeping along, and never finishes... Were you ever able to get this resolved on your end? I would be interested in the answer.

Hey there wildsoles! Usually, that would indicate a network issue, but if you want to be sure, check with our Support team live, and they'll be able to take a look, and test the upload from here if necessary.

Hi! I can't upload a 7000 KB file. I've cleared the cache, but it still doesn't work. Chat isn't available, I don't know why. What should I do? Thank you!

Hi clr, what file format? What browser are you editing on? (Firefox, Safari, Chrome, etc.) What other browsers have you tried to edit on since? What internet connection are you on? (Home, work, university, etc.) Are there any firewalls or antivirus programs there, and have you attempted your edits after disabling them? What devices are you accessing the editor with? (Desktop, laptop, mobile app, etc.) Have you tried any other device and do you see the same behavior?

@Brodie wrote:Hi @clr, what file format?
doc.
What browser are you editing on? (Firefox, Safari, Chrome, etc.)
Chrome.
What other browsers have you tried to edit on since?
None, I've never had problems so far and minutes before I have succesfully uploaded two other files, same format, same size, same browser.
What internet connection are you on? (Home, work, university, etc.)
Home.
Are there any firewalls or antivirus programs there, and have you attempted your edits after disabling them?
No firewall, just Avira Antivirus.
What devices are you accessing the editor with? (Desktop, laptop, mobile app, etc.)
HP Laptop.
Have you tried any other device and do you see the same behavior?
No.
Thank you very much!

Thanks clr!
Are you using the Document element or linking via text?
I'll definitely need you to see if you have the same problem with the upload in a different browser.
If you don't have them, you can download them at links available at http://whatbrowser.org
You should also temporarily disable the antivirus to test if that may be affecting anything at the moment.
If those fail, send a support ticket with the file attached, and let me know the ticket number generated. I'll test from here.
