File Upload problems

I noticed the window that the attachment window that appears after clicking the toolbar button recently changed.  When I try to upload my files I now seem to have to do it several times before it actually uploads.  I can't seem to find a reason why it does it sometimes on the first attempt while others take several tries to get the same task done.  Any suggestions?

What happens if you temporarily switch to a different browser, @Ellen?

No change. Also I  tried inserting a file using the drag and drop feature another member on this forum suggested, but it didn't work either; 404 FILE NOT FOUND was the error.

What happens when you try to upload, @kagen09? Do you get an error?

I too am having a problem with uploading a file.  The problem has just recently occurred since trying to upload the same (with info current for that week)  file a week or so ago was successful with no problem.  Now clicking on the link/file button does not do anything.  It will not unlink the file, and I can not upload the newly updated file.  These are in PDF format.  I tried deleting the button/link but did not publish the page yet and the trying to view the file as a regular user results in a 404 error so obviously when the link was deleted, the Weebly server did actually in fact delete the link.  It will not however allow me to use a new button/link to upload the file.  The other commands (Spacing, Button Text, Location etc.) all work normally so the problem appears to be in the Weebly server that processes the uploading of a new file.

I am using Firefox (Ver55.0.3 64 bit)  on an iMac ( OS 10.12.6 Sierra).  There have been no changes or updates on this system since the previous successful updating.

I am also having issues uploading files. The progress bar goes about 40% of the way and then backs off..goes again to about 10% and then stops. It claims the file is uploaded, but when i save, and go back into it, it isn't there. This is with .zip files .mp3 files but pictures upload fine. I have all add-ons turned off, i have tried another browser, and also have firewall turned off. I have tried I.P blocker also, and even a different computer. My ISP say they are not blocking the IP range!

Because photos are uploading fine, it appears to be a bandwidth issue their end, but i will try a private tab as suggested above, but other than that, i'll have to cancel and move my website somewhere else

Hopefully the private tab helps you out. If the file is small enough you can try sending it to me through https://wetransfer.com/ and I can check to see if I can upload it.

I've been experiencing the same problem. I keep trying to upload a new image file to Assets (very small file, only about 90kb), and no matter how many times I do it, I get the notification in the bottom right corner of my browser (Chrome) that the upload is complete, and then... nothing. It's not there. I've tried clearing my cache and cookies, opening a private window, using a different browser, but nothing works.

Weebly will  not upload a file any more for me.  No one answers the 1-844- help line.  Still waiting on help from weebly. I tried turning off pop-up blocker, using a different browser, clearing the cache and resigning in- still nothing.

Sorry to hear you are not able to get through to support. Today has been a very high volume day for sure! Currently there is an open bug for issues when trying to upload to the assets folder. If you have support tickets submitted I can tag you to receive an update when a resolution is found. Just need your ticket numbers. Thanks!

Hi all,

I'm trying to upload an audio file to a blog post so it will work as a podcast for iTunes. I've done this with three previous episodes and had upload issues every time with Weebly.

For clarity I'm uploading the file as a 'file' and not as an audio clip as that's how you get it to work with iTunes. The file is about 50mb in size and just as everyone else on this thread has said, I get a blue progress bar which partly fills up, then stops, restarts, gets a third of the way filled up and freezes.

I've had issues every time with Weebly and am reaching the point where I'll soon want to cancel my website with Weebly and seek a refund as Weebly isn't providing the service they're advertising. Going by this one thread which was started 2 years ago, this is a consisent problem Weebly aren't bothering to solve.

Can we get a definitive answer from a Weebly representative of the solution to this issue or an acknowledgement from Weebly that their service is broken. I'm a pro level member with 2 websites with Weebly and cannot see where to access any Live Chat or helpline options. Have these been removed? They shouldn't be difficult to find online. It's really poor customer service

Was just speaking to one of your live chat people about this and they were so rude. Constantly blaming my computer, internet connection and even country for having poor internet, rather then just admit that Weebly has a issue where people can't upload files.

I'm in the UK and don't have issue uploading Full HD or 4K videos to Youtube, Wetransfer or Dropbox. It makes no sense that it would be my computer/net connection that then can't handle a 50mb mp3 file.

They wouldn't suggest anything other then that he would upload it to my my site for me, and kept saying that was all he could offer. That is not acceptable Weebly. I don't want to have to get a help line person to update my site for me every time I want to add a file and more importantly, it's my website and my creativity and I don't want someone else interfering with it by adding the content. I should be able to update my site myself and I expect at some point on this help forum, that someone from weebly will actually address the issue and offer a solution.

One big difference between ourselves and those services is we currently only have servers located here in the US, whereas I'm fairly certain that those services have servers in the EU if not other locations around the globe. That doesn't mean it shouldn't just work for you, but it does mean that depending on time of day, distance, and networking issues between you and us that something couldn't be causing a wrinkle. Have you tried a different browser yet? They all handle uploads differently, and one might work better than another.

any thoughts on solutions to this yet? I've tried several browsers, several computers and several internet connections. I give up and when i come back to it days or weeks later nothing changes. I can upload huge 4k videos to youtube and wetransfer, but weebly can't handle a 35mb audio file. Weebly is shamefully poor.

I don't have any specific updates but I do have a possible solution. Can you check out the extension mentioned in this post?
