csv reports - date format problem
Hi there, I have a problem with Square reports that I cannot find information on how to fix.
Specifically
Staff > Shifts > Time Tracking > Timecards > Export > Export Shifts
The download issue is with format of Date cells are downloaded in an incorrect, unusable format.
For example, when I download January 17 to January 21, 2022, the results are:
2017-01-22 (January 22, 2017) should be 2022-01-17
2018-01-22 (January 22, 2018) should be 2022-01-18
2019-01-22 (January 22, 2019) etc
2020-01-22 (January 22, 2020)
2021-01-22 (January 22, 2021)
Excel date format change will not work correctly, as it will simply rearrange the wrong data.
Global search and replace will inevitably corrupt some of the data.
In Square I cannot find a setting function to correct or change the csv settings.
As a result whenever I have to use the data I am having to do long manual changes.
What is the fix? Any of you know the problem?
Any help would be gratefully appreciated
Laurie

Hello @SweetThea 👋
Oh, that sounds quite frustrating.
Just to make sure I'm getting this right, the date format is reading the day as the year and vice versa?
Have you had this same experience with multiple exports or just the one? And if it's been multiple, are they all for different date ranges?
If it's happening for different sets of dates and different exports, this could be a bug.
In order for us to file this so our engineers can take a look, it would be helpful to have screenshots of the export (just make sure to remove any personal information!).
Alternatively, you can reach out to our support team. They can try to reproduce the issue and gather any data they might need from their own devices.
Thank you for flagging!

Yes - I was using the Firefox browser, and somehow that created the problem. I tried doing the downloads in Microsoft Edge and the Google browser, and the formatting was fine. What browser are you using?

I'm also using Firefox so I'll try swapping browsers! Thanks for the tip.
