Why doesn’t my modifiers show up in my square app after I created them in the online tab?

Hello. I’m new to square and just getting started. Question: I created modifiers in the online section because I needed the text box option but when I go into the square retail app those modifiers don’t show up. Do I have to always use the online to add new items going forward?

@Cajunpineapple Text box modifiers are an online item feature only.  They are not available for use in any POS, currently.

Be sure you have assigned the modifiers to the item you want them associated with.

Also @Cajunpineapple I forgot to mention.  You can submit a feature request to the Retail Team to add text box modifier capability to the Retail App.  If you decide to do this, please post a link here to the request and I’ll definitely upvote it.

Chip, thank you for your response - not what I wanted to hear but its the best answer so far. However, just to be clear, if I need to add an item that requires personalization (text box), then add that item thru the Online dashboard, everything else could be done in the square app?  An yes, I will send a request for them to add it to the square app -, after all, they are supposed to talk to each other right!!

Not quite.  Text box modifiers do NOT show up in any POS app.  They only work through our online shops.  This is the disconnect I was telling you about.

yes sir I have.  My issue is that the modifiers are not available in the square app to apply to new items.  It wants me to create "sets" (which would be nice) because they don't offer that option in Online.  AND when I review my items in the square app, it doesn't show the modifiers (but they are there when you preview in the Online dashboard....)grrrr

@Anthem If I had a nickel for every time I missed something like that in a post….. 😂. Anyway, I have to admit that I am more than slightly puzzled that this was determined to be an “online order” feature only.  I can think of a lot of ways text box modifiers could be useful on every POS.
