Suddenly, Sync with Google Calendar Not Working

I've been using Square appointment scheduling for a few days.  Syncing with Google Calendar has been instantaneous until today.

Now the appointments accepted in Square and appearing on the Square calendar don't appear on Google Calendar.

Syncing works from Google Calendar to Square.

Checked sync settings - it claims export is happening when something is added to Square calendar - shows an export update at that time.  However, the appointment doesn't appear on the Google Calendar.

Sorry you're having these issues with your calendar syncing. Here's some troubleshooting steps you can try:

 

  • Make sure that your browser is up to date.
  • Clear the cache on your browser. You can access the Help menu of your browser to locate step-by-step instructions on how to do this.
  • Refresh the page.
  • Switch to a different browser. We recommend Google Chrome.
  • Try syncing your calendar again by clicking Remove Calendar from your Square Appointments dashboard. Then, try to re-link your calendar.

Note: It may take up to 30 minutes for the calendar sync to complete.

This is not the first time I've had this problem, and being familiar with all the troubleshooting steps offered by the support robot I have tried all of those. My square appointments calendar is synced to my google calendar, however, when I enter an appointment, event and so on into google calendar it will not show up in my square appointments calendar. I have spoken with support before about this but they basically tell me there aren't currently any issues with their syncing, which is clearly not the case. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you solve it? Keep in mind, I have attempted all the officially recommended troubleshooting steps.

Hi @ccotenh. I know you've gone through the troubleshooting steps, so just know I merged your post to this thread for the sake of keeping related questions together.

 

We haven't heard of any new issues related to calendars not syncing up. When you called last, did you speak to an Appointments Specialist? I'd recommend checking in with them. They'll also be able to check on the back end of your account to see if it's something specific with your settings or not.

I have had the same problem for over a year. I have to manually sink it or manually put it in. You are now charging 29 a month for this feature that does not work or has ever worked on a consistent basis.

I have my google calendar and square appointments synced.  In the past, I thought that when my google calendar synced TO square, that time slot would not be made available to clients.  Just this week that seems to have stopped working and I have clients scheduling over appointments in my google calendar.  I am now having to clean a lot of stuff up. 

 

Thoughts?

When a client schedules an appointment, it shows up on both my Square and Google Calendars.  When I book an appointment for a client, it only shows up on my Square Calendar and not my Google Calendar.  Help!

This was actually not the issue.  None of my appointments were syncing to my Google Calendar anymore.  I I removed the Exported Google Calendar and then re-added it back (Import and Export) and everything is working again, whether I or my client adds the appointment.

My synced my Google calendar to my Square site, but it will not block the times that are already scheduled on my Google calendar. That will lead to double booking and I'm trying to avoid that. What can I do to fix it?

I have recently updated my phone to IOS 16 and since then my Google Calander is not syncing with my appointments app. This is very problematic for my business. Any updates on when this will be fixed?

This is the most common error that persists in the Google Calendar. That's why the best approach is to always have the PST file. So that, you did not lose the data at any cost. You can achieve this by using the SysTools G Suite Export tool
