Square Online Store: Confirmation emails are labeled as spam
The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Square online spf settings
So, all of the order confirmation emails that get sent to me are getting labeled as spam. I have done some reading and figured out that since Weebly (square online store) is generating the emails using my domain email address they are being marked as spam.
So, the question is what spf txt record do I need to put in my domain to allow those emails to not get grabbed as spam?

Yes, I add the SPF/DKIM records into the domain settings on my provider, but “they” (square, Weebly) need to tell me what these records are, correct? And my understanding is DMARC doesn’t work with Weebly?

DMARC requires SPF or DKIM on the domain so it’s not that it doesn’t work with weebly it’s that that can’t provide SOF or DKIM records information thus the initial dependency can’t be setup for DMARC to be configured with a policy other than NONE which is quite useless. This is all very easily fixed if square/weekly would get off the stick and properly support DKIM in the first place the the rest falls into place
OR they simply stop trying to send as your domain and send as themselves with a reply to as your domain but they can’t seem to figure this out which is truly amazing.

It baffles me that more people aren’t complaining about this. Or is no one actually selling online with Square?

Lots of people are selling online they just have no idea their emails are going to their customers spam. More likely most people use it because it’s easy and don’t have any technical expertise to understand this level of the issue.

While waiting for my SPF/DKIM records from support (ha!), I tried sending a test order email to
mail-tester.com, have you seen that site? The email scored 5/10, but lost most marks for being “spammy”, with hidden text, html not matching text, improperly formed URL, etc. It’s all just so unprofessional.

This is STILL not resolved, it has NEVER been addressed and ALL customer email notifications land in spam due to lack of DKIM capability...the story here has not changed and it's getting really F*&DGing old...this is totally unacceptable this hasn't been fixed by Weebly/Square. I have explained the issue and fix a dozen times and the ONLY way to resolve it is to properly support DKIM authentication since the emails are being sent AS OUR MERCHANT domains.....I want to speak to a real engineer that has a clue!

This is ridiculous. Wow. Probably should've gone with Shopify.

Even Shipstation has finally solved this due to the google/yahoo requirements. You add your email address, they confirm it, then they provide the DKIM Auth info. This was a LONG time coming for them too..

Just chiming in here because I have been experiencing this issue for years and only just found this thread. I too have had multiple hair-pulling phone calls with Square's absolutely clueless support technicians. My domain & email is through GoDaddy so I also tried resolving this through them to no avail. I even contacted Microsoft 365 support to see if I could change something in my Defender settings and got nowhere. This is extremely disappointing and honestly might be a dealbreaker for me now that the eCommerce portion of my business is picking up steam. I have been considering switching to Shopify for at least the past 2 years and never make the leap because of what a massive pain in the a$$ it will be to transfer over my 5000+ SKU inventory and lose all of my historical data. But customers (and my staff!) not receiving order notifications is really bad. That is an extremely basic requirement of any eCommerce site. SQUARE, WHEN WILL THIS BE RESOLVED????
