Has anyone else had an issue with the Square KDS randomly not displaying tickets from the POS? This does not happen often, but when it does, there appears to be no way to recall that missed ticket to the KDS. With a physical kitchen printer, you can re-issue ticket under transactions and the printer will print the ticket number again. Utilizing this method doesn’t seem to send the ticket to Square KDS, so if a ticket doesn’t show up on the display you just don’t get to see it. The only way you would know if the ticket didn’t show up is by the ticket numbering missing one (ex. Ticket 1 and 3 displaying). We typically notice it when our paper ticket numbers don’t match up with our display ticket numbers.
I have an iPad with the Square stand, and my Square KDS is connected via a hotspot connection. The frequency seems to be anywhere from 1-3 times per 100 tickets roughly. I run a kitchen printer in conjunction with the Square KDS where both setups receive the same tickets. I’ve been running them together in the event of any failures with the KDS since my kitchen printer has never failed me. This is my first month testing Square KDS, and I want to ensure it’s going to be nearly as reliable as the kitchen printer before committing to not using the kitchen printer anymore to save on paper tickets. Missing tickets with no method to recall them is kind of a big deal as it will require the register employee to have to revisit the transaction to notify the prep employee of the missed ticket. This is the only issue I’ve seen with Square KDS to date.

am experiencing the same issue. in the middle of service kds will stop displaying tickets. From all devices, register & iPads. It takes a toll because you never know when it is going to happen.
