Run sales tax report by invoiced amount not paid amount.
In NYS you are required to pay sales tax by the invoiced amount in a quarter not the amount paid in the quarter.
For example if the invoice date is Feb 28th but the invoice is paid on march 5th, it would still need to get reported for Feb
All the reporting in square is only linked to paid invoices, I confirmed this with support.
Any ideas how to run a report on sales tax by invoiced amount???
Support said there was not a way and would put in a feature request, I just cant imagine no one else in NY or other states that require to report the same way have not solved this issue.

Hey @jppair
I'm not really sure that there is a way, like support stated. Even the report tab under the invoice section is bare minimum to say the least. I live in NY and use invoices 99% of the time, I did not realize that NY goes by invoiced amount and not paid amount. Learned something new today!
As far as book keeping goes, I categorize, all my income and expenses, monthly reconciling etc but then hand everything over to my accountant come quarterly and end of year filing. I try to stay as organized as possible but accounting and dealing with the IRS and NYS is not for me.
Looking at our example though, would that even make a difference? We have until the 21st to actually file our quarterly taxes, so even in that example as long as you didn't file your taxes until any outstanding invoices for that quarter were received it would still be the same correct? I could be looking at it wrong, or just haven't ran into this type of situation.
