Locations set but not showing up for transactions

Hello all!

I have recently set up square store for several locations of an outdoor non-profit called Thrive Adventures. When putting items for sale as well events to register for on our store, I have specified which locations the items and events are correlated with. However, when someone purchases or registers, the transactions all say from one specific location instead of the location I assigned the item to.

Does anyone know what I've set up incorrectly? They all go into the same bank account so for bookkeeping ease, I really need specific items and events to each tie to different locations.

Thank you so much in advance!

Hello @ThriveAdventure !

Are you talking online ordering or in-person ordering?

For in person, the app only knows about whatever location it was signed into at the first login. Log out of the app and log back in. You will be presented with a list of locations. Choose the right one then all sales logged on that app will be in the right location for you.

For online, it's a little bit more work to get it all set up correctly. Get into your weebly dashboard, then hit Settings -> Pickup & Delivery. Each of your locations will be listed here, more than likely only one is active. Activate the ones you want then go through all the configuration to set it up as you need.

When your customers go to your website, they will first be presented with a list of locations to purchase from. Once they choose, the online experience will be the same as a single location store.

Word of warning: with the online store, if you enable an item for sale for one store, it will be available in every online store you have. If you have items that are only available in specific locations, there is another step to follow. You have to go back into your Square Item Library and remove the items from the locations you don't want to have it sold at. Took me a while (and a phone call to support) to figure that one out.

Thanks for your help Ryan! After reading your suggestions, I realized I have everything set up properly so I chatted with Square and apparently for the online store you can't have reporting for several different locations on the square store. It all reports to your default location. Which is a bummer considering our nonprofit has several locations that offer different events, yet we want to be able to all be on the same square store. And want various events and items to report as selling from those locations.

Hopefully Square/square store finds a way to add this feature sometime soon. It's very needed!

Hmmm. That will change things for me, too.

I do hope Square fixes that sooner than later! 😬

I created a new location and did everything like I always do and it gives this message “Items aren't available for sale yet at this location. Switch locations or come back later to purchase!”. Please help we open in 1 hour and customers cannot order online.  I tried calling but you guys only open Monday to Friday.
