Customers using ApplePay not getting points with Loyalty Program through the Online Store

Problem: Online store customers are not getting their loyalty points if they use ApplePay.

 

I have it set up so that customers earn points by amount spent; not item or category-based. When customers use ApplePay (even if their phone numbers are already saved to their account), they do not get the points for making the purchase. I tested this feature myself a few times. The weird thing is that one transaction DID log my points to my account, but the next few transactions DID NOT. I even tried to order the same exact item and using the same credit card through ApplePay to complete the purchase 30 minutes later. It did NOT log my points the second time.


UPDATE: I figured out what's going on. The customer must hit the "Checkout" button first, go fill in their email address, phone number and name. Then a box will open up to display their loyalty points and rewards available. THEN they can go back to their shopping cart and use ApplePay to complete the transaction. Customers must fill in their contact information every time in order to log their loyalty points.

 

I feel like this feature could use some improvement so that it makes the process more smooth for ApplePay users. For now, I will create a pop up message informing customers what to do so that they can earn those loyalty points if they plan to pay with ApplePay or Google Pay.

Some of my customers complained that they didn't receive any loyalty point after they placed orders thru our online store and paid by Apple Pay. I have to add those points manually from the POS every time it happens. Is there any solution to this problem?
