KDS Feature Request- Expo or Kitchen KDS alerted food is ready to the server.

We have switched to each server has an ipad and takes the orders at the table.  We use KDS for the kitchen and expo.  I would love the kitchen KDS to be able to click ready, then KDS send an alert to the ipad the server is using.  That way they know their food is ready to pickup.  Sort of like a pager, but not 1990s tech.  Maybe a vibrate and an auidible ding?

@duffymahoney I was thinking about this a little bit and agree it would be a really neat feature.  In theory, they could have a kds facing the servers or the kds app on their tablet and be able to watch the completed orders.  I am not sure you could set it up as an expediter station and when the kitchen is done at the station level that then it would show the expediter it is ready...but any of these solutions would require awareness by the wait staff that the order is ready.  I really think a feature to have a "now serving bob" might be a good way to accomplish this.

We actually have 4 kitchen KDS, one in our prep station/ room, that way if tickets get into the 20's, someone can pop over and help.  The 2 giant android KDS units for the hot side, then 1 IPAD kds on the salad side.  

Then we have an EXPO KDS, which the servers or managers use to complete tickets. 

Kitchen marks as ready, puts all the food in the window, plus a paper ticket, then the servers mark ready when they run the food, that aspect works perfectly.  But if it could simply alert the server that rang in the food, that their table is ready for pickup, it would be a super cool feature.

@duffymahoney I agree with you.  I always like to look for workarounds and I have found 2 or 3 ideas that would work, but nothing as good as what you are suggesting.  I will see if a mod can move this to a feature request/ideat!

Enable an order completed notification to be sent the server upon order completion audible and visual.
