Time Clock Function Missing (Resolved 2/4/25)

Has the clock icon disappeared for anyone else? It is no longer on the check out screen and my staff cannot use it to clock in anymore using the Square POS

Apparently you have to go into settings, then team management, and the. Toggle o. “Use on this device”

Hi all, thanks for your patience here 🙏

Our Engineers have discovered this issue is currently impacting Square Sellers who are using the Shifts add-on on the Point of Sale app version 6.58 on both Android and iOS. As a workaround, they suggest enabling the the Team Management add-on before toggling on the "Track Team Member Time" setting.

You can enable add-ons from your Square Point of Sale by following these steps:

  1. From your app, tap ≡ More > Add-ons.

  2. Select the add-on you want to add.

  3. Select Add or Learn more.

 

Our Engineers have developed a fix to address this issue in the next app update, 6.62 which we anticipate in the coming weeks for both Android and iOS. I'm currently in conversation with our Engineers and have asked them to let me know once the updated app versions are available. I'll update this thread once 6.62 is available.

Good morning, @TheRealChipA 👋 Thanks for the tag here. Happy to provide the latest info I have:

Engineers currently anticipate updated versions of Square Point of Sale, which include the fix for this issue, to be released to app stores on the following dates: Android 6.62 on 1/29 and iOS 6.62 on 2/4. The updates are released on a percentage-based rollout, so 6.62 for iOS may not be fully available to all Sellers until end of day today or early tomorrow.

If anyone has updated the app to 6.62 and still experiencing the Time Clock issue, after following the troubleshooting steps as well, please let me know and I'll relay this to Engineers for further investigation. Thank you.

Hey there @arawls313.  Yours is the third post I’ve seen on this subject today.  Hmmmm. It turned out that they had to delete and reinstall the POS app, after which everything was back to normal.  Some odd glitch in the last update that seems to have affected some sellers.  Try that and let me know how it goes.

Deleting and reinstalling the app did not solve this problem for us.  And we also had the clock in/out option disappear.  It has disappeared from my iphone app, and the ipad app.  However, the dedicated point of sale devices still have it.

Ok.  I’m tagging a few Square moderators here.  They can check in with the team and see what is going on.

 

@_Violet @Summer2024 @Katie_SQ @Sammie_C  This has cropped up a few times today.  At least one seller found that deleting and reinstalling the app fixed it for them.  But it seems that maybe that is not working for everyone?  Help is appreciated.

@arawls313 Thanks for the heads up.  I’m wondering if that is being erroneously reset in the new version of the POS app?  That happens sometimes.  I’m glad you found that!

We are also having this issue, updated our IPAD to the newest version also. Clock still not appearing on our main device. Any other suggestions?

Anyone else missing the timeclock on the pos screen? Bottom right hand corner for staff to clock in and out?  My staff are unable to clock in or out on the pos.  We used it Monday evening and Tuesday morning it was gone. I spent three hours on support with square with no resolution.  Any and all help is appreciated.

@Whistlepunk A few people have had it.  Since you didn’t say, I have to ask?  Did you follow any of the suggested steps above in this thread, or not?  If not, that is why they are there.  They worked for other people so if you read and try them, they might work for you, too.

I have tried all of the fixes suggested above. We are still not able to clock in on our POS. With tomorrow, being the end of the month, any word on when the new update will be available?  Thank you.

@sweetmountain version 6.61 is in the App Store, now.  Not sure about Android, but I’d imagine that one was released, too.

Apparently 6.62 has the fix.  Could really use a fix.  Currently employees have to write down their hours so I can enter them manually.  I can't imagine how larger operations are dealing with this.

Hi,

 

Update applied this morning. Employee's can now clock in, but they can't not clock out. If they use "log out", it doesn't clock them out.

 

This all worked just fine until January 27.

 

I am assuming the "fix" didn't fix it?
