Processing Fees for Square Terminal?

The title of this thread has been edited by a Square Moderator from the original: "If I buy a Square terminal is it still 2.6 percent if I have to manually enter a card for a sale?"

I take deposits for large purchases and most of the time I have to key them in manually. Is there a way to do it for less than 3.5 percent? I'm willing to buy terminal if it saves money.

When you enter the cards Manually, are the cards present that the customer can Tap it, Dip the Chip, or Slide the Magnetic Stripe?  If the Cards are present that you can do one of these then yes you could save on the Fee.  If your typing in the Credit Card numbers because the person is paying you over the phone, then you would not have the 3.5% since the card still would not be present to do the Transaction.
